I have moved most of my blogging activity to http://www.feliciawoodside.com/ which is my new website. As a result I wont be posting much here other than quotes, etc:
Psalm 30:5 – “For his anger endureth but a moment; in his favour is life: weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning”(KJV).
Today, I am here to declare to you that your joy is coming to you “this morning”! How do I know that? Well, I can guarantee this promise based on what the aforementioned scriptures states: “…weeping may endure for the night, but joy cometh in the morning.”
When King David stated this he didnt mean the literal time frame of PM (night) and AM (morning); however, he was talking about the temporariness for all things bad. He is saying that, “Hey, it may be sorrowful now, but because of God’s favor (which lasts a lifetime) there is going to be a new day — a new season in your life that will turn it all around. And in this new season will be the spirit of rejoicing”. Continue reading
Ephesians 3:7 “I became a servant of this gospel by the gift of God’s grace given me through the working of his power” (NIV).
In striving to be a humble Christian always remind yourself that who and what you become (or who/what you are now) has manifest because of the grace of God. The word of advice this morning is don’t ever live life thinking you are self-accomplished and too independent to give God glory. Every morning make it a practice to thank God for the little and big things that happen in your life because without the Father there would be no you! Have a great Thursday, and always remember that God loves you! Continue reading
Romans 12:2 “And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.”
“Today I put on the mind of Christ. Create in me clean heart and renew a right spirit within me” – a prayer I prayed for years. Since I was saved from the age of 6 I always desired to be like Jesus. At that age Jesus was (and even more today) so real to me. I looked up to Him like a big brother I wanted to be some much like. Continue reading
Psalm 27:14 – “Wait on the Lord: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the Lord.”
If you are an impatient person like me waiting for someone or on something can be dreadful. But as I grow in my faith and relationship with Christ Jesus I am learning the real meaning of “patience is a virtue”. In my Sunday school days I was taught that one of the Fruits of the Spirit (characteristics every believer must have) is patience (Galatians 5:22). And from a young age I asked God to make me patience in Him.
Have you ever heard the saying, “be careful what you ask for”? Because I surely got what I asked and it came through testing…a lot of testing. One thing I understand about God is that when you ask Him for something He does not just drop it in your lap. He makes you work for it. God helps you to mature in your current situation while bringing you to another level. When I asked for patience I really thought I was going to literal wake up the next day and voila! It would magically happen.
Hebrew 12:1 Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us…
Your purpose is greater than your sins and your race is greater than your problems; therefore, you should not let your sins nor your problem hold you back from manifesting the greatness that is within you. Stay focus and run the race!
I remember when I first became saved, I would always live in guilt with every mistake I made. It would take me days, weeks even sometime months to recover from the shame and guilt of my sin or my problem. While “recovering” I was wasting precious time moping when I should be carrying on with my life and fulfilling the purpose and plan God has set for me.
